About the conference

Economists have recently started to explore the role of cultural traits and beliefs, cultural diversity, social norms as well as endogenous preferences for a wide range of socio-economic interactions, among which crime choices. Such elements seem to be crucial for the well functioning of institutions and legal systems.

This Conference aims at providing an opportunity to present and discuss the most recent research perspectives on these issues.
This event is the follow up to the SUS.DIV - CEPR - PSE Conference "Models of Cultural Dynamics and Diversity" (held at PSE, 11-13 December 2008) and the arrival point of the Research Project on "Economic analysis of crime and social interactions" promoted by the University of Padua.

The Conference is supported by SUS.DIV Network of Excellence on "Sustainable Development in a Diverse World" (funded by FP6 Priority 7, contract No. CIT3-CT-2005-513438), by University of Padua Research Project "Economic analysis of crime and social interactions" (grant CPDA071899), and by Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), and is co-organized with the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)
