The CiELO project intends to transfer knowledge and competencies on sustainable development and in particular on circular economy, water and soil remediation and recovery, to European students and teachers. On the one hand, the project aims to provide students and teachers with the scientific knowledge and skills to understand circular economy practices in Europe and the most important issues related to sustainable development. On the other hand, it aims to stimulate students to learn, develop and share conscious behaviours, as well as to acquire transversal skills that can create virtuous circles of development in the future.

The project will involve about 160 students and their teachers belonging to 4 institutes in Italy, Croatia and Lithuania, three scientific partners working on issues related to the circular economy (including an associate partner), and a technical partner specialised in the development of innovative digital teaching materials.

To achieve its objectives, the project will support students – guided by adequately trained teachers and tutors and using a Cloud Platform – in the development of a number of activities based on innovative digital technologies designed to stimulate the inclusion of participants and to facilitate their learning process.

The CiELO project will have a positive impact on the participants, and in particular on the students who will improve their scientific knowledge of the circular economy and their transversal skills (linguistic, technological, communicative, etc.), and on teachers who will acquire innovative teaching methods as well as scientific skills on the topics covered by the project.

The project outputs will include:

  • Cloud platform, a virtual and innovative learning environment, interactive training platform for teachers and students, internal communication and dissemination channel for the community.
  • Teacher training materials, with study materials, masterclasses and operational guidelines.
  • Report on Flipped Classroom activities.
  • Digital dossiers (e-books) produced by students in national groups.
  • Micro-sites produced by students in transnational groups.
