This concerted action aims at: 1) building a European multi-disciplinary network of organisations actively working on environmental valuation issues both at the theoretical and policy level; 2) assessing the state-of-the-art and validity of environmental valuation in a range of specific policy areas and identifying gaps in current understanding; 3) producing output of immediate policy relevance and recommendations for future interdisciplinary research on environmental valuation relevant to the decision-making process and to provide for its dissemination.

FEEM contributes with the organisation of a workshop on Green National Accounting, where different methods of valuation are discussed in the light of most relevant developments in community research, as well as most recent advancements at the level of institutions (Eurostat, UN Statistical Office, London Group, National Statistical Offices). The workshop is held in March 2000.
