Venice, Italy: Economic Analysis of Incentives and Sustainability of Renewable Energy Support Mechanisms

Many countries have designed incentive structures, primarily to attract private investments in renewables. There is however much debate on the cost effectiveness – from an economic and financial perspective – of the different incentives in promoting renewables and how to address issues related with regulatory design and affordability. On Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, Maria Vagliasindi, lead economist at the World Bank, will present at FEEM some lessons emerging from several case studies on the design of renewable energy support mechanisms.
