May 28, 2015 – FEEM Re3: “Economic Impacts of Disaster Risk and Risk Reduction Measures”

Italy is prone to natural hazards and disaster risk due to its natural conformation. Limited risk prevention and uncontrolled urban expansion contribute to amplifying such risks. In this article, FEEM senior researcher – Jaroslav Mysiak – reports how FEEM and CMCC researchers have empirically tested, for the first time in Italy, the potential impacts of climate change on the regional economy.
