Hydropower development requires an integrated strategy and adequate economic policy instruments for the management of both water and renewable energy sources.
On November 24, 2011, the FEEM seminar by Lorenzo Carrera and Fabio Farinosi (FEEM and CMCC), will illustrate the results of one of the ex-post assessment exercises conducted under the FP7 project "Evaluating Economic Policy Instrument for Sustainable Water Management in Europe" (EPI-WATER), which outlines the evolution of the green energy incentive scheme in Italy between 1999 and 2011, assessing its performance and its environmental and social impacts.
