How far has the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme influenced technological change towards low-carbon technologies?
The LSE Grantham Research Institute’s study – based on 8.5 million European companies and their patenting history – shows that so far the Scheme has had at best a very limited impact on low-carbon technological change.
