The Caribbean islands are among the most disaster-prone regions in the world: droughts, floods, hurricanes, storms, landslides and earthquakes are threatening the region’s economies, growth and social development. The countries of the region are making a gradual shift from an ex post response and recovery strategy to a more comprehensive approach in reducing risk. This week’s FEEM Seminar explores the links between good governance characteristics, disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate threats for this group of islands.
