FEEM Contributes to New Issue of Oxford Energy Forum on Electrification in Africa
Meno di un minuto
What is the role of international institutions in the electrification of Sub-Saharan Africa? This is the topic explored by FEEM researcher Simone Tagliapietra in his contribution to the latest issue of Oxford Energy Forum, the open access journal of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. The issue focuses on the barriers to electrification of Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), and ways to overcome them. Due to significant expected population growth, the number of Africans without electricity access in 2030 may not fall much from today’s level of about 600 million, which is about 60 per cent of the world’s current population without access to electricity.
