12:00 - 13:30
Concentrated solar power (CSP) is a promising energy technology with zero or low-carbon emissions. It converts solar energy into heat energy, stores it, and uses it to generate electrical power around the clock when it is most needed. To improve knowledge on effective CSP financing in emerging economies, the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) has undertaken a project entitled ‘The Role of Public Finance in CSP’, in partnership with the Climate Investment Funds. Gianleo will present the main findings and lessons based on their analysis of financing and policy models across the world, case studies in Morocco, India, South Africa and Spain, and three expert workshops with public and private stakeholders.
