This Policy Seminar will provide the latest updates on international climate change and energy policy. In particular, the speakers will present China’s recently-released  13th Five-Year Plan, with a concerted focus on the strategy it establishes in terms of emissions reduction and clean energy. The much-awaited Five-Year Plan was officially adopted by the Chinese government on March 16th. As the country’s blueprint for wide-range of economic and political priorities up to 2020, it includes also mitigation, innovation and sustainable development goals. The seminar will therefore provide a detailed analysis of such goals, putting them in the wider context of actions that China has recently planned to undertake in the climate change policy sphere. The seminar will then also provide snapshots of other relevant policy developments at both national and international levels.
