The project AMPERE "Assessment of Climate Change Mitigation Pathways and Evaluation of the Robustness of Mitigation Cost Estimates" aims for a broad exploration of mitigation pathways and associated mitigation costs under various real world limitations, while at the same time generating a better understanding about the differences across models, and the relation to historical trends.

The objective of this stakeholders meeting is threefold. To present what the AMPERE project has already achieved. To ask stakeholders what input from the integrated assessment community are fundamental for the negotiations and the policy process. To review existing modeling assessments and highlight the main challenges in translating key results for other communities.

The meeting is perfectly timed. The AMPERE project has already achieved much and the first results can be presented. At the same time the project has still one and a half years to go, hence can benefit greatly from the input that will arise from the stakeholders meeting.
