In the context of the EAERE Webinars on Science-Policy-Business Interface, on the 21st of July, 2022, University of Brescia and Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei have hosted the event “Free thoughts on the future”.
A double panel of international speakers from the academia and businesses discussed their expectations and hopes on the future evolution of the economy, ranging from issues related to sustainability, energy transition and environmental and climate policies, with the aim to unify their visions in common actions and possible solutions.

This video presents the intervention of Jeffrey D. Sachs, Professor at the Columbia University in the City of New York and President of UN SDSN, during the Round Table “Free Thoughts on the Future” (July 21, 2022).

Prof. J. D. Sachs has addressed the pressing issue of the war in Ukraine, the Net Zero Emission target by 2050 and the leading role Europe should take, the financing of the energy transition, as well as recent events related to Italy and the current geopolitical situation.
