Profile

Matheos Giakoumi, born in Limassol and hailing from Famagusta in Cyprus, earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering from Cyprus University of Technology in 2021. He then completed two Master’s degrees in Natural Gas Engineering from University of Cyprus and in Energy and Environmental Management and Economics from University of Pavia & Eni Corporate University.

Matheos began his research career focusing on the fabrication of electrochemical energy storage devices, such as super-capacitors. He later shifted his focus to computational modeling, specifically targeting applications in geo-energy processes.

Currently, at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei in the “Technologies for the Energy Transition (TET)” program, Matheos focuses on synergizing technical performance and market viability by melding mechanistic and economic models for actionable insights into energy transition technologies, such as Carbon and Hydrogen storage.
