The abundant philosophical literature on climate change mainly explains how (according to an ethic of justice) we can redress climate injustice between generations or between rich and poor, but says little on why we should do so, or what motivations we may have for worrying about climate change. Understanding them is however crucial to the political endeavor to design strategies and identify actors that can bring about a higher level of global governance on this challenge.
