On 6-7 October 2011, The Final Conference of the ClimAlpTour Project "Climate change and its impact on tourism in the Alpine Space" will be hosted by Veneto Region, with the support of UNEP Vienna – ISCC on the 6 and 7 October 2011 in Venice (Italy).

Funded under the European Union Alpine Space Programme, the ClimAlpTour project is tailored to provide a sound knowledge of the different aspects of the climate change on alpine tourism and possible adaptation and management strategies for tourist sector to be implemented by civil services and stakeholders.

FEEM’s researchers, through the partnership of CMCC, have been scientific-technical consultant of a ClimAlpTour partner: the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea – Department for Environmental Research and Development (MATTM) .

The Conference represents a unique opportunity to bring together high level institutions, private companies and representatives of the local communities to present the concrete outcomes of the project and to further discuss potential measures in order to encounter negative impacts of climate change, especially on the most sensitive areas of the Alpine area.
