This presentation will provide the main results and recommendations from the BIOCORE project as funded by the European Commission FP-7 programme. The key discussions from: the online valuation survey; hedonic pricing method; benefit transfer values and vulnerability studies will be highlighted. The final part of the presentation will offer recommendations to strengthen the marine ecosystem-based in this case the coral reef particularly for developing countries and the need to develop interdisciplinary alliances and/or partnerships with other institutions in understanding the climate change policy.
