The Conference on "Supporting Drought Policies in Europe" is the final event of the EC-funded project Xerochore. The event aims to discuss drought related policy recommendations in order to foster the development of a roadmap towards an EU Drought Policy. Specific objectives of the conference are to:

  • Introduce the results of the Xerochore project.
  • Give the floor to contributions that deal with the three drought aspects: drought identification/ characterisation, drought assessment and drought policies.
  • Integrate those aspects focusing on the development of drought policies and different scales.
  • Highlight the needs of policy makers to link the development of drought management plans with the WFD implementation process.
