ABSTRACT

This study develops a methodology for measuring circularity by classifying and grading the information published by companies. The analysis focuses on how raw materials are procured and transformed and on a company’s systemic impact on NC. The framework integrates state-of-the-art knowledge on how to build key performance indicators that can both be used as building blocks for investment strategies, and as tools to engage companies in the definition of targets of improvement, and in the reporting of high-quality data. This approach offers a method that investors can use to estimate the degree of circularity of companies, and it will contribute to the definition of shared indicators of circularity performance, as well as to advancing the diffusion of a CE culture in the financial community.
