Chiara Gaia Iascone joined Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) in February 2024 in the Projects Unit, after several years and professional experience abroad. With a Bachelor’s degree in foreign languages (English and Russian), she lived many years in Podgorica and in Belgium, where she was first engaged as a consultant for the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro. In April 2018 she was hired as a contract agent in Brussels for the European Commission at the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, joining the team dealing with the assistance package for the refugees in Türkiye as well as with pre-accession funds to the country. In February 2023, she moved to Tirana at the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, overseeing the programming of the EU pre-accession funds. In 2011 she had won an internship at the Italian Embassy in Podgorica sponsored by MAE-CRUI. She then continued her professional experience in the country working in the civil society sector and as a consultant for the European Union until 2018. Strongly interested in the Western Balkans, she is also fluent in Serbo-Croatian and has a Master’s degree in International relations obtained at the University of Milan. She spent a semester as an Erasmus student in Munich during her undergraduate studies at the Università Cattolica in Milan.
