- Prior to being appointed as Assistant-Director-General for Programme Support and Technical Cooperation at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) up to Sept 2020, Dr. Ridolfi was the Director of the European Commission for Sustainable Growth and Development at DG for International Cooperation and Development where he launched several policy actions, chaired several investment committees and was the main promoter of the External Investment Plan of the EU in Africa with innovative guarantees linked to the SDGs
- He was also twice Ambassador/ Head of delegation of the European Union
- From 2005 to 2007 he served in Suva (Fiji), where he was in charge of the relations of the EU with 15 Pacific countries and territories, and in 2010 he was appointed in Uganda by the High Representative for Foreign Policy of the EU, where he served till September 2013 . He launched there the first equity fund for small agriculture investments.
- In between as Head of Division at the EC he launched the first ever fund of funds on renewable and energy efficiency GEEREF of which he served as Chair of the investment committee
- Dr. Ridolfi joined the European Commission in 1994 and worked as development and economic advisor in several delegations of the Union, e.g. Malawi, Namibia and Kosovo
- Throughout Accession negotiations (2001-2004), he was the principal coordinator dealing with Environment and Transport in Public-Private-Partnerships (PPP) and edited the first successful PPP guidelines

Elias T. Ayuk (PhD) is Director of the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) based in Accra, Ghana since October 2010. On completion of his PhD in 1989 from Texas A&M University in College Station, he served for two years (1990 -1991) at the International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC)-Africa office based in Lomé, Togo as a Visiting Scientist under the Rockefeller Foundation Social Science Fellowship program. In 1992, he joined the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), now known as the World Agroforestry Centre, as a Senior Regional Policy Economist and was posted successively to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (1992-1994), Bamako, Mali (1994-1998) and Harare, Zimbabwe (1998-2002). In 2002 he joined the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Dakar as a Senior Programme Specialist where he served until 2010. During this time (2002 -2006) he was also the Acting Executive Director of IDRC’s Secretariat for Institutional Support for Economic Research in Africa (SISERA). His research interests focus on poverty analysis, institutional capacity building and the social, economic and policy dimensions of natural resource management. He has edited and coedited several books and he also serves on the Social Science Advisory Committee of the International Foundation for Science (Sweden) and is a member of the International Resource Panel of the United Nations Environment (UNEP).
- Laura Cozzi was appointed the Agency’s Chief Energy Modeller in 2018
- As Chief Energy Modeller Ms. Cozzi oversees the Agency’s work on outlooks and forecasts. Ms. Cozzi is part of the senior management team of the IEA. She is also Head of the Demand Outlook Division with responsibility of producing the annual World Energy Outlook, the IEA flagship publication, and the Global Energy Review among others
- Ms Cozzi joined the IEA in 1999, and has been leading several editions of the Outlook, and has been co-author of multiple editions of the report

Mark Howells directs the division and holds the chair of Energy Systems Analysis (KTH-dESA) at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and is an Honorary Affiliate Prof at the University of Technology in Sydney and Editor in Chief of Energy Strategy Reviews. KTH-dESA spearheads the development of some of the world's premier open source energy, resource and spacial electrification planning tools. Mark he has published in Nature Journals; coordinates the European Commission's think tank for Energy; is regularly used by the United Nations as a science-policy expert; and is a key contributor to UNDESA's 'Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development Policies'. His division contributes to efforts for NASA, IRENA, ABB the World Bank and others. Prior to joining KTH-dESA he has an award winning career with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Mark's graduate and post-graduate studies were undertaken at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Within that time he was also an international research affiliate at Stanford's Program on Energy and Sustainable Development: spokesperson for the World Energy Council's student program; lead RSA's Integrated Energy Planning (IEP) process as well as other national initiatives.
Professor Mariana Mazzucato (PhD) holds the Chair in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value and is Director of the Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose, University College London (UCL). Mazzucato’s highly-acclaimed book The Entrepreneurial State: debunking public vs. private sector myths (Anthem 2013; Public Affairs, 2015) was on the 2013 Books of the Year list of the Financial Times. She is winner of the 2014 New Statesman SPERI Prize in Political Economy and the 2015 Hans-Matthöfer-Preis and in 2013 she was named as one of the '3 most important thinkers about innovation' in the New Republic. She advises policy makers around the world on innovation-led growth and is currently a member of the Scottish Government’s Council of Economic Advisors; the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Leadership Council; and SITRA’s Advisory Panel in Finland. Her current research projects include two funded by the EC Horizon 2020 programme: Innovation-fuelled, Sustainable, Inclusive Growth (ISIGrowth) and Distributed Global Financial Systems for Society (Dolfins) and new projects on Rethinking Medical Innovation, funded by the Open Society Foundations, and on mission-oriented innovation policies with the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Her recent research also includes projects funded by the Ford Foundation and the Institute for New Economic Thinking, and work commissioned by NASA, the European Space Agency. She is co-editor of a new book, Rethinking Capitalism: Economics and Policy for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth (Wiley Blackwell, July 2016). Her new book The Value of Everything, will be published by Penguin (Allen Lane) in 2018.

Elke Weber is the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment and Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs at Princeton University. Her research models decision-making under uncertainty and time delay in financial and environmental contexts from a psychological and neuroscience perspective. Her expertise in the behavioural decision sciences has been sought out by advisory committees of the National Academy of Sciences on Human Dimensions in Global Change, an American Psychological Association Task Force that issued a report on the Interface between Psychology and Global Climate Change, and Working Group III for the 5th Assessment Report of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She is past president of the Society for Neuroeconomics, the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, and the Society for Mathematical Psychology. She is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, the Society for Risk Analysis, the Society for Experimental Psychology, and received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the Society for Risk Analysis. She was elected to the German National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
PhD, SPRU, University of Sussex, is a Full Professor of Organization and Innovation at LUISS Guido Carli University (I) and a Visiting Professor at Rotterdam School of Management (NL). Andrea is the Director of the PhD Programme in Management and Leader of the Organisation Group at LUISS. He has held academic positions at SPRU, INSEAD (F), and University Gabriele d’Annunzio (I), and has been a Visiting Professor at SPRU and Imperial College Business School. Andrea sits on the editorial board of Industrial and Corporate Change, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, International Journal of Project Management, Research Policy and Long Range Planning. Andrea’s research interests revolve around the organization of innovation; project-based organizations; and the relationships between regional social capital and firms’ innovation performance. He has published articles on these subjects in management and organization journals – e.g. Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science – and in major innovation journals – e.g. Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change.
