Africa in transition: politics, economy, resources

Within a MoU signed in 2018, FEEM and UNISTRAPG developed an online learning programme aimed to explore the scenarios of change and evolution of Sub-Saharan African countries. The goal of the project is to support the transmission of specific competences to European and African university students through an international fall school including a diplomatic simulation, supported by researchers of FEEM and UNISTRAPG.

Main Results and Outputs

The project foresees the organisation of a fall school scheduled for the autumn of 2020 (the date is is being redefined because of COVID-19 emergency). The core of the school is the ECOWAS or UNO diplomatic simulation (Ghana will be the reference country), where students are invited to play diplomatic roles by drawing up documents containing their proposals; the proposals are then submitted to the Assembly vote and transformed, if they are approved, in resolutions. The school also provides frontal teaching activities and the creation of targeted teaching material concerning the energy policy in Subsaharian Africa, one of the fundamental themes that will be addressed during the school. A certificate of participation with the FEEM and UNISTRAPG logos will be issued.
