Joint FEEM-IEFE seminar on climate change impacts in the Mediterranean: the economic assessment of the CIRCE project”
Less than a minute read
Climate change is expected to have non negligible impacts on world economies and societies, and its effects are likely to be exacerbated by the socio-economic and environmental vulnerability of the impacted region.
On Thursday 20 October 2011, the FEEM-IEFE joint seminar by FEEM senior researcher Francesco Bosello will illustrate the main findings of a project on “Climate Change and Impact Research: the Mediterranean Environment” (CIRCE project). Key research results provide an assessment of the direct and indirect economic impacts of expected climate change in the Mediterranean, with a focus on tourism attractiveness, energy demand and land loss driven by sea-level rise, showing higher vulnerability in the Southern Mediterranean regions.
