Elena Verdolini holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS) from the University of Washington, Seattle a PhD in Economics and Finance of the Public Administration from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan.

She is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) of Political Economy at the Law Department, Università degli Studi di Brescia. She is also affiliate scientist at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment, Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici, and affiliate researcher at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei.

She is a Lead Author in Working Group III of the IPCC 6th Assessment Report. Her research interest is applied (econometric) analysis of innovation, adoption and transfer of energy-efficient and climate-friendly technologies.
