Davide Mazzoni joined FEEM in July 2018. His research activity is focused on expanding and improving energy access in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a MSc in Energy and Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he studied innovation in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. After his graduation he worked in the automotive industry as Functional Safety Engineer and got a Certificate of Advanced Studies at University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where he further refined his management skills. Driven by a strong interest in sustainable development and energy policies, he did an internship in Chile where he contributed in designing and making financial and economic analysis of renewable energy projects for local communities. He also drafted the Local Energy Strategy 2030 for the City of Villa Alemana, which was later on approved and published by the Ministry of Energy of the Government of Chile and gave birth to several projects. Keen on agriculture, he also implemented solutions into the family farm in order to reduce the GHG emissions and shape a more sustainable business model.
