Giacomo joined FEEM in November 2017 as a Research Fellow in the Future Energy Program (FEP) research program. An environmental economist by training, Giacomo carries out applied research on the nexus between energy, water, climate change, agriculture, and economic development with a particular focus on sub-Saharan Africa. At the same time, Giacomo is completing a PhD at the Catholic University of Milan, through which he was a Visiting Researcher at the IIASA and PBL research centers.
Author of various publications in international journals, Giacomo holds an MSc in Environmental and Climate Change Economics from the London School of Economics and a BSc. in Economics and Social Sciences from the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen trilingual university.
As an economist with a strong multidisciplinary background, Giacomo's interest in the interdependencies between energy, economy and the environment stems directly from the relationship with the natural environment that surrounds him and from his desire to make a contribution to society in safeguarding it and developing itself in a way sustainable.
