On April 12, 2018 at the Centre for African Wetlands, University of Ghana, Accra, Prof. Chris Gordon, Director of the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies College of Basic and Applied Sciences, University of Ghana, delivered the Lecture: “Charity begins at home’: The University and the Delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals”.

The University of Ghana has always been on the frontiers of research and innovation on the environmental thinking, with a special focus on the use of technology and adoption of solutions. In these fields, the University can combine the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) case studies with the academic programs to contribute to the leadership building for the next generation of policymakers and leading scholars.

The lecture analyzed the main linkages between the key performance indicators of the University of Ghana Strategic Plan and the SDGs. The analysis investigated how the University can mainstream the SDGs into solutions to contribute to the global perspective on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda from a “southern” vision.
