In the forthcoming FEEM seminar, Carolyn Fischer from Resources for the Future presents a paper that contributes to recent literature on the Green Paradox that distinguishes between regulated and unregulated regions in a Hotelling framework. In this model, different grades of oil are characterized by different costs, emission factors, and underground reserves, while the clean backstop experiences cost-reducing technical change.
