International conference "Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security"



Climate change impacts agricultural production. While crops in some parts of the world benefit from the changing climate, anthropogenic climate change is posing an overall negative impact on agriculture and the food security that is dependent on it. With global food production expected to increase by 70 percent within 2050, the agro-food sector is facing unprecedented resource pressures, with more on the horizon. On May 11, 2015 FEEM, ICCG and CMCC, together with the French Embassy in Italy, will host the international conference "Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security" under the patronage of Commissariat Général de la France at Expo 2015 to address the role of agriculture and food in the post-2015 development agenda and to develop strategies for a sustainable development path for future food systems.
