FEEM seminar on "Policies for natural resources (POLINARES): a report of the first 18 months"

The issue of increased competition and conflict over access to oil, gas and minerals has gained priority in political agendas. The threat of conflict and instability has added urgency to the search for collaborative and cooperative solutions to ensure secure and equitable access to these vital natural resources, which are critical for future global prosperity and security.

This week, in a seminar that will be held on Thursday June 16, 2011, Armando Rungi - FEEM and Bocconi University - will illustrate FEEM's preliminary research findings and contribution to a project on "Policies for natural resources" (POLINARES), funded by the EC under the 7th Framework Programme, and aimed to examine how tension and conflict may undermine future global peace and economic development, focusing on competition over energy sources and minerals.
