Climate change constitutes a major threat to Sub-Saharan Africa. But it might also be an opportunity in disguise, to accelerate the access to low carbon energy sources (one of Africa’s most important untapped assets); and to enhance the quality and effectiveness of investments in key sectors such as agriculture, transport and urban development.
This presentation will provide a brief overview of World Bank activities in support of the region’s climate agenda, with particular emphasis on strengthening knowledge for climate-smart decision making.
