The abundant philosophical literature on climate change mainly explains how (according to an ethic of justice) we can redress climate injustice between generations, between rich and poor etc.; but says little on why we should do so, or what motivations we may have for worrying about climate change. Understanding them is however crucial to the political endeavour to design strategies and identify actors that can bring about a higher level of global governance on this challenge.

The author’s most recent article on the seminar’s topic Two Global Challenges to Global Governance has appeared in Global Policy, III, 3, Sept. 2012.

This seminar has been jointly organized by FEEM and IEFE, Bocconi University.
