Current research on world water resources and use shows that fundamental topics such as demographic trends, energy development and needs, water-energy nexus, climate change, and water geostrategic challenges are interconnected.

Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, Politecnico di Milano and Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca will jointly organise an international Conference on the complex relationship between water and development: renowned experts and scholars will convene in the framework of the initiatives for the World Water Day to discuss current scenarios and to provide insightful answers to the most urgent questions on water-related topics.

A poster session will be held during the Conference on the following topics:

  • water as a resource
  • water in the natural and in the built environment
  • infrastructural support to the use of water
