The Italian Association of Environmental and Resource Economists is launching a School series aiming at providing advanced training for young international scholars on issues of environmental and resource economics.

The 6th IAERE School will be organized in cooperation with the University of Urbino ‘Carlo Bo’, GEU Gruppo Economisti Urbino and SEEDS and will focus on applications of dynamic and spatial modelling to analyse the relationship between environmental and economic dimensions.

It will take place in Urbino, at the University of Urbino, from the 11th to the 15th of July 2022. OBJECTIVES Interplays between environmental and economic issues are characterised by non-linear feedbacks as well as by cumulative impacts, lagged responses and transboundary effects.
The complexity of these phenomena and the overlap of both temporal and spatial lags in feedbacks calls need to be considered in theoretical and empirical applications in environmental economics.

The aim of the school is to introduce young scholars to the main theoretical and empirical models through which temporal and spatial dynamics in environmental economics can be investigated. Methodological modules will offer the students an intense overview of the methods (either theoretical or empirical) needed to consider the specific type of dynamics (either spatial or temporal). The applied module will consist in the presentation and deep scrutiny of one (or more) seminal paper(s) in environmental economics related to the corresponding ‘methodological’ module.
