FEEM is one of the co-sponsors of the 18th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists – EAERE 2011 that will take place in Rome at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, from June 29th to July 2nd 2011. The conference is jointly organized by the Department of Economic – Financial Studies and Quantitative Methods (SEFEMEQ) and the Faculty of Economics of the Tor Vergata University of Rome.

FEEM, which has a longstanding relationship with EAERE, as manager of its Permanent Secretariat since 2004, and as institutional member since 2006, will be actively participating in the Conference.

Of the 1.400 papers submitted, only 548 were accepted, and 48 of these are authored by FEEM researchers who will be presenting their scientific work at the Conference. The prestigious plenary sessions will include the Presidential Address by Professor Partha Dasgupta – Cambridge University, UK – and the David Pearce Lecture by Eric Maskin – Princeton University, USA. The Conference will also host a panel discussion on Climate Change, chaired by Prof. Carlo Carraro, Chair of the FEEM Scientific Advisory Board, and a session on ‘Opinion from the Energy Sector’, with the participation of eni and Enel CEOs. Prof. Carlo Carraro will also be participating in the IPCC Session, where the  Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change Mitigation (SRREN) of Working Group III of the IPCCC will be presented. EAERE 2011 will be the setting for the announcement of the awardees of the Erik Kempe Award in Environmental and Resource Economics, the European Lifetime Achievement Award in Environmental and Resource Economics, and the European Practitioner Award in Applying Environmental and Resource Economics.
