The scoping meeting, which involved more than 200 selected invited climate change experts and governments representatives gathered to define the outline of the next IPCC assessment report, was officially opened by the President of the IPCC, Dr. Pachauri, with an official address by the Italian Minister of Land, Sea and the Environment, Ms Prestigiacomo. Following the opening address, the event was presented to the press in a press conference organized by FEEM-CMCC, with the participation of Dr Pachuari, Ms. Prestigiacomo, Mr. Clini, Director General of the Italian Ministry of Land, Sea and the Environment, and by the leading authorities and scientists of CMCC-FEEM, namely A.
