FEEM Award 2009, in collaboration with the European Economic Association
In 2009 FEEM will assign the first FEEM Award in collaboration with the European Economic Association (EEA). The prize will be awarded for new research addressing key economic issues at the European and global scale.
Launching FEEM Lectures: Andrei Shleifer on "Naked Capitalism"
The world is changing fast and open-minded inquiry is needed to face the challenges ahead. FEEM lectures are catalysts for breakthrough research in the social, economic and political issues of our time. The inaugural lecture by Prof. Shleifer reviews the last quarter century of economic development, as well as the causes and consequences of the financial crisis.
FEEM Policy Briefs: where Science meets Policy
FEEM Policy Briefs address key scientific and policy issues, fostering the dialogue between the two spheres. Building on the results of FEEM research, FEEM Policy Briefs pose (new and) thought-provoking questions and offer fresh insight into potential or alternative policy actions.
International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG)
ICCG, a newly launched initiative of FEEM and the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, is aimed at research on climate policy design and brings together scientists in the fields of economics, climate change and political sciences. ICCG will be located on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice.
Inauguration of the Supercomputing Center of the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC)
The Supercomputing Center of CMCC was inaugurated in Lecce on January 31, 2009. Key scientists and public authorities, including three Italian Ministers, attended this major event. CMCC, founded in 2006 by FEEM, INGV and the University of Lecce, carries out integrated research on climate change.

FEEM presented new research outputs on climate change modelling and policy at various scientific events at the 14th Conference of the Parties within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Poznan on December 1-12, 2008.
